This is a great book and the two storyline in both books was different and the characters were well developed and supported the story. I also enjoyed where these stories took place, Washington is a beautiful place. The women are strong and courageous, the men brave strong and powerful and the love they have for their ladies is strong, beautiful and sooo sexy. Jimmy and Tasha fell for each other quickly, but it was cute. I loved the strong family theme throughout the book. There were a lot of action scenes in this book, so if that's your cup of tea you'll enjoy them. Great storytelling by the author and very descriptive. Great job!!
Two different couples two similar outcomes. Love conquers all in this game, whether it is the Italians against the Russians. Or the Russians against the Asians, where men and women meet LOVE is sure to follow.
Tasha has just opened her jewelry store, the Russian Mafia is pressuring her to pay for protection, she decided to go to the a Italian's for protection instead , because of that the war starts. Jimmy her Italian protector is so much more than she bargained for, sexy, good looking and he likes cats. I had read the bonus book before it get five stars also.
Great storyline and plot. It was too short. The ending could have been more detailed, the readers want closure. Jimmy and Tasha have a strong bond. What I like about the story is the believability. What I didn't like about the story is The lack of a back story for Jimmy. I rated the story five stars because of the connection between Jimmy and Tasha. There should be a follow-up story.
I started reading these ebooks about 10 years ago and found some really good ones and some throw aways. For the past year a lot of the work available has been throw aways. This is NOT a throw away. I loved it. I don't like getting caught having to read ~5 stories in one book but both of these stories were great. I loved them. They deserved a five.
It really was a freakin' sweet story. Our Hero was truly smitten with our geeky heroine! (giggles) He didn't play all of the games guys play, you know, "I like her but I'm gonna ignore her so she doesn't know." Please,(rolls eyes) he let her know!!! He was determined to be in her life and he didn't care if her brother approved or not! He was all alpha male. I loved how their relationship didn't feel forced. Although, they hadn't known each other long, they interacted easily as if they had been together for months, if not years!
Just be advised, this is a 2-story book. And the story is not the same genre.
This review pertains to The Goldsmith's Protector which ends at around the 51% mark on the (I haven't read the 2nd story yet) and I found it to be a very well written which straight away is a massive tick for me. I did find that the shortness of the story limited the development of the characters somewhat, however the author did well to provide a pretty well rounded story with some satisfying romance and action regardless. I did find the stupidity of the villain a little hard to swallow though.
I also found myself a bit shocked at how quick Tasha was wondering if Jimmy had a crush on her, too and same for when Jimmy decided he was going to fall hard for Tasha. This is where the limited word count detracts because the courtship is speeded up and that sorta slapped me in the face when I read it as it seemed to come out of the blue just for the sake of getting them together quicker because the word count dictated it. I would have loved to see this developed into a full length novel because I really enjoyed this author's writing. Loved the addition of Chunk, too. )
Overall, an enjoyable quick read but left me wanting more. I would definitely read more of Raven Rivers after this little sampler!
